Franchino Mold & Engineering Estimator in Lansing, Michigan

The Estimator will efficiently and accurately generate quotations for existing and prospective customer base within the plastic injection mold and die cast die industry. The estimator forecasts project costs by gathering information and compiling data to estimate all production costs according to company specifications. The ideal candidate will have the capability to analyze drawings, data and specifications, necessary to estimate labor, materials, and outside services needed to complete the project.

Responsibilities

  1. Be able to estimate realistic, accurate, and achievable hour/material/service costs and use that information so a competitive quote can be provided to the customer.
  2. Ensure all quotations are prepared consistently, all necessary information is stated explicitly on the quotations and all internal requirements are met and are completed within 2 days of receipt or as the customer requires.
  3. Reviews the models/e-mails/part drawing and request further information from the customer in order to become completely familiar with the project.
  4. Establish the complexities of the mold or die; slides/core pulls/lifters/spare cores -- inserts and guided ejection and create a concept to determine the size of the mold/die.
  5. Review customer mold/die standards, if applicable and assure we are meeting their expectations.
  6. Complete customer and project information in quote database.
  7. Set up a review meeting with required personnel for approval of all quotes.
  8. Look at ways to streamline the quoting process such as software upgrades, better use of information or new software.

Experience: 5 years

Education: Associates degree or equivalent experience as an Estimator.
