Job Description:

To provide technical skills in performing routine laboratory tests.

Job Duties:

A part-time technician position is immediately available at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Our research laboratory employs experimental models to study a neuromuscular autoimmune disease. Research projects focus on the development of immunotherapy to improve or cure the disorder. We seek a highly motivated researcher. The selected candidate should have basic research experiences/skills and be willing to learn and perform animal experiments. The selected candidate would be expected to perform routine experiments independently or with minimum help from other scientists in the laboratory

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate/bachelor’s degree in basic science or equivalent; 1 year related experience.

  • Experience in cellular biology, molecular science, and immunology fields. Basic research experiences/skills, including RNA, PCR, immunoblotting, cell culture, ELISA, and animal handling experience, are preferred.
